Dr. Doug’s Quick Spanish

There are hundreds of language-tutorial videos on YouTube, often with long-winded explanations that students find overwhelming. I’ve often directed students to use these to reinforce class materials, but they don’t find them very helpful.

After recording my class videos during the pandemic, I decided to create a series of tutorials called “Dr Doug’s Quick Spanish” where I would cover a variety of grammar topics in short bursts. Using screen-capture technology and my Surface Tablet as a whiteboard, I did just that, and now count 28 videos covering everything from the present to the perfect tenses. Students do use these, and find it helpful that I’m the one doing the explaining, rather than a stranger they’ve never met.
